WR Tobys Thunderbird was foaled in Oklahoma at Hurricane Ranch, home of Bill Wicklund and his foundation bred endurance stallion, Pratts Toby IV. Thunderbird made the long journey with his dam from Oklahoma to Wyoming and the eagerly waiting owners of Wind River Appaloosas. Marvin and Karen Smyser watched this handsome young boy grow over the next two years. Thunderbird joined DSA June 2008.

Thunderbird is an asset to our growing program. He incorporates the foundation breeding of Chief Chelsea and Toby bloodlines crossing Toby IV three times. He also crosses the legendary Ghostwind Stallions an astonishing 9 times throughout his pedigree. The other notable names in his foundation pedigree are; Pratt Toby Secret, High Thunderbird, Paisano, Red Eagle, Bambi E, & The Wagtail Kid.

We intend to incorporate a couple of his fillies back into our breeding program.
